Gov. Jim Gilmore was a headline speaker at the Homeland Security Summit and Exposition held in DC. Titled The Frontlines of Homeland Security: Success Through Regional Cooperation, his panel discussed several case studies and the success stories coming from states, counties and municipalities that are committed to inter-jurisdictional cooperation.

A symposium sponsored by the Small Business Administration. More than 400 companies registered to hear Gov. Gilmore discuss homeland security public policy and potential regulations that may impact the private sector.

Congressional Advisory Panel to Assess Domestic Response Capabilities for Terrorism Involving Weapons of Mass Destruction (also known as The Gilmore Commission)

The Advisory Panel met to assess the capabilities for responding to terrorist incidents in the U.S. homeland involving weapons of mass destruction. This was the Commission’s last working meeting The fifth and final Report was released December 15, 2003.

American National Standards Institute Annual Conference

Gov. Gilmore was the keynote speaker at the annual ANSI conference entitled "Homeland Security: Collaboration, Innovation and Standardization." He gave a report and on the activities of the Gilmore Commission as it neared the end of its mandated term.

The Homeland & Global Security Summit

Gov. Gilmore moderated a panel on Tuesday, March 4 on "Corporate Resources for Homeland Security.: He was the Keynote Speaker on Wednesday, March 5, addressing the general session on "State and Local Security and Disaster Response." Over 1,200 corporate executives and government officials attended this premier event in 2003 on homeland security.
